Andres, who knew Ela from high school and Collin from Baylor, decided to play matchmaker.

Collin was hesitant about starting a long-distance relationship during his senior year at Baylor—he wanted to focus on the present. Yet with each conversation, our friendship transformed into a connection too meaningful to ignore.

November 21, 2023

First In-Person Date

Then came an unexpected turn—Collin’s Thanksgiving plans were bringing him to Florida, something that had never happened before. It felt like the universe was giving us a nudge, making our first meeting not only possible but remarkably easy to arrange.

November 2023 – August 2024

Ten Months of Distance

Between Waco and St. Petersburg, we built something rare. Turns out, when you can only talk, you really talk—about our deepest values, future dreams, family stories, and all the little things that make us who we are. No distractions, just genuine connection across the miles.

August 2024 – May 2025

Dallas, TX

After navigating flight schedules and time zones, we finally closed the distance in August 2024. Dallas became home for both of us, and we began a new season side by side.
